My choice would be Cheerleaders 9, simply because 8 left off with such a promising situation... Twins 4 would be just more of Mrs Bauer and her daughters, while there's a whole bus of fresh cheerleaders waiting for us... :D

Unfortunately this thread outlines one of the negative aspects of the dofantasy forum.
There are too many members coercing Fernando to produce this comic or that comic next, and I am partly guilty of that.
I am convinced that there would have been a 'Sex Wars 3' by now if this forum didn't exist.
So I would urge those members calling for another 'Twins' and 'Cheerleaders'....don't be selfish. :x You have had another of these comics quite recently. Please wait your turn. We 'Sex Wars' fans have been waiting for well over a year.
Ultimately it is Fernando who decides, but I hope he will produce 'Sex Wars 3' soon. :sw

I am looking forward to the 'new' comic by Fernando.
In fact, it may be better for him to do away with sequels altogether and give us something fresh and exciting to look forward to with each comic. Maybe Templeton had a point.
Cheerleaders is good...but does it justify 8+ comics? I think not.
Personally, I am tired of those characters now...the infusion of fresh blood hasn't really improved things for me. Ditto...Twins. Sex Wars I think deserves at least one more comic, but no more.
No...all in all I believe Fernando should just produce a new story with new characters for each new comic. Thinking about it,some of my favourites have been the one-shots, ' South of the Border' and 'White Slavery Ring' among them.

I disagree with you comicglutton.
Cheerleaders do deserve to have so many sequels, and hopefully have many more (hopefully never end), as hopefully there is at least one or two sequels over Twins (no more). I personally do not tire me out the characters in these comics, is I find increasingly interesting their new situations and new roles with each sequel. :D
Where I do I'll give you the reason is that the next comic that would appear would be Sex Wars 3, because for over a year since appeared Sex Wars 2. :)
Although not to think of it Fernando.

There is a poll regarding this (sequels or fresh stories)
http://dofantasyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=191

I have divided feelings as people have in general in that poll.

Comics have its own way -like any other vehicle of expression- of telling a story. Comic language is different than movie language, than theater performance language, than an old fashioned radio drama, than a novel or than a single oil canvas or a picture. Yes a single good picture can tell a whole story. I remember that Pulitzer prize of an Afghan girl many years ago that only the face (the eyes) was shown. That girl told many, many things to me (it was a cover of National Geographic I think)

Back to the comics, 40 pages are not a lot. But certainly a comic artist knows how to tell a lot in such a tiny space without loosing track of the narration. So at the end, the dilemma between sequel or not means a longer or a shorter story.

But that has to be in the mind of the creator from page one of volume one.

What happens sometimes is that a successful comic gets a second part that was not planned at the beginning. The risk here is to make a boring sequel bringing in new characters that sort of 'dilute' the intensity of the first part.

Just to give you an example: I've seen recently a threat asking for Templeton's African Horror sequel.
http://www.dofantasy.com/english/USAFC2 ... Horror.htm

As you know I wrote all the stories for Templeton except Family Trap. African Horror is the second all time success by Templeton, only surpassed by Evil Crew. And it is the 4th dofantasy.com success ever, Well, I've always been reluctant to write a sequel just for that reason. I think the story is perfect as it ends. A sequel would bring more trouble to the Italian reporter or to the daughter of the dissident leader, and of course to Miss Campbell, but it will be difficult to maintain the tension of the first part.

Now look at Harem Horror 1 and 2 by Predondo.
http://www.dofantasy.com/english/USAFC2 ... Harem1.htm
http://www.dofantasy.com/english/USAFC2 ... Harem2.htm

This is exactly the opposed situation. The story was planned for a 3 parts from the very first, so around 150 pages... And in my opinion, the tension is higher in the second part than in the first, and in the 3rd it will be a climax (hopefully!).

So my opinion here is simple: How many pages the author needs to make a certain story happen? Not an easy question indeed...

I agree with Nuria. Too many sequels can dilute the power of the original comic. Just 'tagging' on sequels for the sake of satiating the public's demand is not the way forward. I would much rather the artist produced something new and original. I would even forego a second sequel to 'Sex Wars' for something new and exciting.
Fernando's art is fantastic....I just believe he should be given more scope for his creativity.
The net result for sequel after sequel is that the plots become ever more extreme and outlandish in a bid to maintain the interest.
That is when I start to lose interest. A good story is always grounded in some kind of realism. When you stop believing, the magic is lost.
Anyway, tirade over. I would always buy a Fernando comic, regardless.
Love his girls. :)

First off, thanks to froody42 for the choice of avatar...that's one of my favorite girls.
Now, sequels and Fernando...
I am constantly amazed by Fernando. The output of material from this artist is astonishing, and since the start of his run with DoFantasy the quality of the art just keeps getting better. Which is terribly hard to do with such a volume of work, I truly don't know how he does it.

Sequels are so difficult to do well. I come from a movie background and to me, some pieces of art should simply stand alone with no sequels, they are perfect statements on their own. Trying to cram in a sequel where one was never intended is more often a disappointment than a triumph. That said, Fernando seems to be immune. There's hot action in every comic.

My inclination would be to trust the instincts of the Artist and see where he goes with it next. I don't think anyone will complain about what Fernando chooses to draw in his next comic.

Good for what you said Roberts, about Fernando and his / the sequels, I totally agree.
In my humble opinion should be left to each artist to do what you want, you can say yes, but always with respect.
I love comics Fernando and each of its sequels (each time gets a new one, is equal to or better than the last).
The artist, in this case and know when Fernando or not to finish a story, when to draw any sequel, a sequel, two, three, etc, etc. ......
At about the comic has to take upon completion of which you are now, for what will be welcome, my preference and I said, but if you take any of the other two comics, as well as happy in the end I buy comics, whatever, as Fernando is my favorite author and I love his stories, comics, art. :)

We can listen to the arguments and counter arguments over sequels until we're blue in the face, but what really matters is the artist's feelings.
If Fernando really WANTS to carry on the 'Cheerleaders' saga, if he is INSPIRED by it, then I say carry on.
If he is NOT, and is merely producing these sequels to satisfy a public with a voracious appetite for 'Cheerleaders', then I would say STOP.
There is an old saying: 'Familiarity breeds contempt'.
I'm not suggesting for one moment that I am now contemptuous of the 'Cheerleaders' series, but I would like to see Fernando try different things.
That is why I look forward to his new comic with more enthusiasm than if it had been a 'Cheer' sequel.. :)
