I'd also like to add that I don't like scenarios where the toons perish. Whether it is shown or just implied. It's just too nihilistic and grim for my tastes. However terrible their predicament, there should always be at least some tiny glimmer of hope of escape for them.

Exactly same feeling I had on "Chinese Warlord's" series, I love the comic, but find it dejecting how it ended.

It annoys me that no legal challenge was put up against the censorship imposed by the Banks, because the entire concept was hatched from coercion imposed through the Patriot Act. Now sadly, if the Bankers had actually come up with the idea all on their own, as a pure business decision, there would be little anyone could do (and indeed, they did write volumes of policy to smokescreen the true origin of the action)..yes, you can't tell a private bank to do business with anyone. But you also cannot be the US Government and tell the banks NOT to do business with anyone, especially based solely on content. That IS a Constitutional violation, especially when the order is backed by the full threat of prosecution under an Anti-Terrorism law which is fully inapplicable to the situation. There are misconducts here in legion, and outright crimes of a Capitol magnitude worthy of prison time. It's not that the Banks refuse to do biz with anyone, it's HOW and WHY which are criminal.

I agree, and I think there should have been a legal challenge, but unfortunately the primary victims didn't have the means, or the early realization, to mount that challenge. Remember they went after relatively small and niche-oriented sites first. If they'd started out with sites run by major porn companies with expensive lawyers, I'm pretty sure you'd have seen that challenge right quick.

For what it was worth, which turned out to be nothing, I did plenty of screaming about this both on the editorial page of Taboo and in private offices with producers when it first got started, but I don't think the nature of the threat was recognized until it was already fully in place. It's a more difficult thing to explain until you've seen it in action, and by then, it's rather late in the day.

No excuse, but not surprising to anyone who understands how slow this business is to climb out of the box for thinking purposes unless it's their own money on the line in the immediate future. We've got a lot of big problems in this industry right now that could have been dealt with more effectively back when they were small problems, but it's exasperatingly difficult to get the corporate bean-counters who run mainstream porn to look up from their adding machines and see the bigger picture.

You do realize there's a scene in one of the "Hostel" movies where a girl is bound and gagged naked, hung upside down in a stone dungeon, then has both neck arteries cut open so another naked girl can wallow beneath her in the shower of blood? That's in a theatrical release movie. Many credit cards were used to buy tickets I think, many more to buy the DVD.

If I drew that picture, the bank would cancel all billing immediately.

Yes, it's hypocritical.

The 'logic' is that the scene you describe is supposed to frighted and 'disgust' the viewer. The scene you would likely draw would be to titillate and excite the reader. It's stupid and wrong but that's the way those people think. It's why early Hollywood made so many Bible epics. They could show violence and sex as long as they said it was 'bad' in the end.

Things that turn me OFF..

Being told what I can draw and having my money controlled and limited. Censorship by private banks. THAT turns me OFF.

And I really don't like being turned off. I'd much rather be furiously horny and excited. I draw more that way.

Both of these defeat the point of these comics.

Others include pregnancy, older women (moms), little girls, excessive blood/pain/suffering, anything overly disgusting, ugly heels.

This forum is supposed to aid the artists and give them an idea of what we readers like and do not like.
That said, I think it must just end up confusing them.
I don't really like milfs in my comics, but other people do.
Likewise with other kinds of content.
Ultimately I think the artists should just go with what turns them on.
That way we get to know which artists' tastes are closest to our own and spend our money accordingly.
I don't believe they can possibly please all of the people all of the time.
