Re: Tell the people What you want to see
Yes, a bit of clarification thank you..
I'm not actually knocking those tastes in images either..there is always the thrill of the fringe and dangerous, I appreciate that myself...I'm just saying, not in EVERY comic..it becomes repetitious violence and not sexy. In a certain magazine I'm involved in, 10 page episodes of comics by DoFantasy artists are printed one after the next, and there are certain issues where if you flip through the book, you actually cannot tell one storyline from the next between 3 or 4 artists..no matter what page you stop on, some girl is being brutalized or beaten...without any sex. If you like that, great. But it can't be the only flavor in the store, if it is, you scare away a LOT of customers.
Hard to believe, but there are still plenty of people on earth who get excited at the sight of beautiful women bound naked...for me, it's always about the pretty girls. What gets done with them is just a bonus. Do I get rough? Oh yes. I have my moments. And I'll continue to get rough. but not in excessive amounts and not without some purpose to it. Not violence for the sake of violence. It has to be sexual.

I agree and it's nice to have an artist say they understand.

It rather depends on the setting and context. I abhor (extreme) violence in any scenario that is even remotely realistic.
But in stuff that is already heavy on fantasy and suspension of disbelief (like Templeton's two Orc titles), it bothers me somewhat less.

True it is more understandable in that genre but that makes me care for that genre and the comics in it less and be less likely to buy them.

Re: Tell the people What you want to see
I have been an observer..and a critic...of the hipocracy in media and government when it comes to sex in TV and movies and violence.
We have 'SAW" movies now in an excessive number..what, 6? 7? More? "Hostel" is up to 4 now? Not one outcry, not one protest, not a single bit of concern from all those high moral policemen and politicians...on film, in graphic detail with long scenes, people, women especially, killed..torn to pieces, cut up, shredded, butchered. not one word.
The Banks don't seem to mind billing credit cards for this content. the Politicians don't have anything to say. Even the public seems to just..accept it.
If I did a single film where the story was a maniac kidnapping girl after girl, and taking them into his dungeon to have them bound naked and r@ped, and showed this action with the very same attention to detail as in the "Saw" movies? The outrage and protest would be insane. I'd be arrested immediately. Banks would seize my accounts. It would be persecution and prosecution on a massive scale.

There is a reason why people call the Saw movies "t@rture porn". Yet they get shown in mainstream movie theaters!

Honestly,I'd really like to see men used and abused by a group of women, instead of 1 or 2 women being used by men.
