Fair enough, but there's a big difference between millionaire and billionaire, larger than most people realize, and there is a lot of competition out there now. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that it might be harder than hyperbole would suggest.

It's incredibly hard now, yes, but not for any of the lame excuses internet people talk themselves into. I keep hearing them..oh competition, oh too much free stuff, oh pirates...
All true, but the sheer numbers of people now online mitigate all that. what we're REALLY fighting, and nobody will admit, is banks turned into censors in partnership with hostile political forces, isolation of certain web content, restrictions, being totally blocked from reaching many areas of the world. It's censorship and isolation which has put the ceiling over our heads. With a billion plus people online, tell me how it's rational that a website can only have 200+ members, if it can be seen globally? Or how that website can turn in the identical stats and sales month after month..for years..with no growth at all? that's technically impossible.
We all have an elephant sitting on our heads.

I can't speak for that, though when I did try to open a new account (long story involving Nuria changing banks and my previous bank being unable to process international wire transactions), they gave me the run around when I admitted I was receiving them from a pornographic website. It basically involved "oh sorry we can't open it because some random banking regulation company flagged you, please call them to sort it out" and, after I called them, said company said "uhhh... there's nothing wrong with you, why are you calling us?"

Eventually, with paperwork in hand, the pencil pusher at the desk "talked" with his manager, and they agreed to let me create an account. In hindsight, his compliment regarding my "persistence" was probably backhanded to say the least. Thankfully his branch closed down in a matter of months, and the pencil pusher was most likely forced out of the business, though I can't know for sure as I think the inquiry might raise too many questions that I'd rather not answer.

Can't say for sure whether or not this was the actions of a lone rogue individual or something more systemic, but that was my experience with the whole ordeal. I shudder to think what would've happened if I'd admitted it was Dofantasy and if they'd done some research into the issue.

It's systemic, and it's Policy. it is a fairly high level of Classified, even among bank employees, but it is very real and I have fought virtual wars because of it. This type of content is watched, monitored, along with all those involved in it, and the Banks have been used as the primary system of censorship and control. I am not allowed to have an online billing account, a merchant account, or a PayPal account, because I am Gary Roberts..world famous r@ape comics artist. My name is flagged in every financial database in the West.
In 2002, the big wigs of the US Govt. held a 3 day conference in Florida, hosted by Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris. This was done on the premise of "Stopping the sex slavery trade"..law enforcement nationwide was involved.
Policy was set at this conference. among them, policy that ALL r@ape portrayed in any media is Terrorism against Women. If you portray r@ape, in photos or drawings or video, you are a Terrorist. Officially. This is now Policy.
How do the Banks fit in?
The USA Patriot Act.
Any bank which holds any accounts, or enables movement of money, or does business, or processes transactions, for any TERRORIST...is subject to prosecution under the Patriot Act. As providing Material Aid and Support to Terrorists. THIS means, 100% seizure of all assets with no legal recourse, no right to trial, no lawyers, no phone call..it is even a felony to TELL someone you are under investigation under the Patriot Act.
So..2002...Department of Homeland Security. They go to every bank everywhere. They give them the news. STOP all business with "r@ape" websites online, or be destroyed. PERIOD.
I am among the thousands..THOUSANDS..of independant producers and artists who lost their businesses overnight. I had 2 shut down, for Prohibited Content, with no debate. Hundreds of millions of dollars, lost in an instant. We still exist under this policy, though thankfully, some European banks are choosing to not be the whores for the Americans and have bad eyesight for awhile.
Does this explain it better?

That does help, yes. I guess discretion remains the better part of valor... that and a prudent decision not to retain too much in funds in the account for too long, lest it be frozen and seized.

At the time, the Owner of CaveCreek/CCBill, one of the BIGGEST online hosting servers and billing companies for Adult sites, actually went to bat for me against this policy. On that very premise, that you can't r@ape a cartoon.
The bank shut his merchant account down anyway. CCBill processed tens of millions in online transactions monthly...and if you add up what 3% and .15 cents per transaction meant to the BANK in income, you'll quickly realize the level of terror the US Government put into the bankers. Billing companies all over the world vanished, all of them multi million dollar corporations. The Banks took the hit, because to NOT cooperate meant losing everything. We poor lot running our own BDSM websites? Killed with no concience.
