Hello, the last chapter was good with a lot of intense scenes. I was hoping for more action where Yasmin finally been broken and defeated by Doc Z. However, one thing I don't quite appreciate in Predondo's work, despite being one of my favorite artists on that site, is his tendency to always have happy endings. For this reason, I will give it a 4-star rating."

Agreed happy ending bring the mood down.

I enjoyed the story, but must agree, not the happy ending.

To a certain extent, I do agree. Overall, I do like Predondo stories overall, but the happy endings have always been a bit of a let down. That said, I would like to add a bit more nuance to it.
From my perspective, the issue is less the type of ending and more they seem unearned and surprising in a bad way - there's virtually nothing earlier in the story to indicate that that particular ending was going to happen, and they seem more like a "gotcha" moment. It mostly just happens out of the blue with no warning, and with an absolute finality that kind of kills any potential stories that may come afterwards.
Newer ones are better at planting the seeds of the ending. The CIA agent/talk of civil unrest/mysterious woman in purple do help lay the ground work, but since the girls themselves have basically no agency and don't affect the outcome in any way, it feels more like it just happens to them, not like they've really done anything to make it happen.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into a pornographic story. I think it has more to do with overall care of the story than a specific ending type. Predondo's stories have a few problems in general: weird coincidences, people not acting rationally, out-of-the-blue events (like committing murder on a long-running character with no other reason than "I'm angry right now!"), characters completely changing disposition for no discernible reason. The art is hot, but the stories don't stick for me because there are parts that pull me right out of it.
But, once again, maybe I'm just overthinking it. "Pizza's here; wanna f@ck?"
I think another thing is just how completely everything is torn down in the ending as well. The ending just kind of happens, and all the villains die. While I think the villains deserve it, I think we come to the story FOR the villains not in spite of them. Without the villains escaping or fleeing, they can't wreak havoc on new victims. The story can't continue. It's like killing "It" or "Jason" or "Krueger." It was a fun ride, but the horror is gone now. It's dead.
Maybe that's what Predondo wants, I don't know.
Anyway, that's my two bits. I don't know how many people actually care about the story so long as the comic has a scene that tickles someone's fancy. I think if Predondo improves the story, it can get there, but at the end of the day, I don't think it's the fact that it's a "happy" ending so much as an unearned one that gets me grumpy.
